What is the dress code? Do I have to wear a collar? Are shorts allowed?
Men are required to wear shirts with sleeves and presentable pants, shorts, or jeans. Collared shirts are not required. Cutoffs and tank tops are not allowed for gentlemen.
Women may wear sleeved or sleeveless tops and pants, shorts, skirts, or jeans. Cut offs, halters, and swim wear are not allowed on the golf course. Midriffs must be covered. Tasteful tank tops (such as sleeveless golf shirts) are allowed for women.
Tee shirts are allowed, but tee shirts must not contain inappropriate remarks. Inappropriate remarks are determined by the management.
Swimming Pool
Our swimming pool is open all year and is included in the cost of a membership. Guests can swim for $5.00 per guest. The pool is included with some party packages. See the Amenities and Banquet Hall pages for more information.
Employment
Prospective employees can complete an online employment application or come by the pro shop to apply. We do not accept phone inquiries for employment.
Current Operating Hours
We are open from sunrise to dusk seven days a week, 364½ days per year. Our current operating hours are posted on the home page on the left accordion menu.
Weddings, Meetings, and Parties in the Banquet Room
Complete information, as well as photos, about the banquet room is available on the Banquet Hall page. You can reserve the room with the Banquet Room Reservation form. A $100 deposit is required to hold the room, and full payment is due one week before your event. Complete the reservation form online and upload it on the Contact Us page, or fax it toll free to 1-866-229-0121. You can pay the deposit online or send us a check.
Of course, you are welcome to come view the banquet room any time that it is not in use during our normal business hours; an appointment is not required. We are always open when the sun is up. Our current operating hours are posted on the home page on the left accordion menu.
Wednesday Lunch Menu
The menu prepared for the Wednesday Senior Scramble is posted on the Wednesday Lunch Special page. This meal is generally $5.00.
Scorecard
Our scorecard and course map are on the Course Map page.
Reserving a Tee Time
Tee times are not required. You can reserve one if you have a big party and are planning a weekend morning round when we are usually busy, but otherwise (and even in that case), come on out.
- The course is generally closed to open play on Wednesday mornings for the Wednesday Senior Scramble. Please call 281-331-4541 before coming on Wednesday morning. They usually finish between 12:30 and 1:00.
Check the calendar and announcements on the home page for special events or maintenance that might close the course.
Senior, Junior, and Twilight Green Fee Rates
Alvin Golf & Country Club offers discounted green fee prices during the week for seniors and juniors as well as a discounted weekday twilight rate for green fees and cart. Our greens fees are listed on the Green Fees page.
Opening the Wednesday Senior Scramble Winners Spreadsheet without Excel
If you don't have Excel, you can still view the Wednesday Senior Scramble winners spreadsheet (and other Excel files). Simply download and install the free Microsoft Excel Viewer on the Documents page.
There are three versions of the viewer under Acrobat & Microsoft Free Viewers. From the website main menu, go to Content > Documents and open Acrobat & Microsoft Free Viewers. Choose the viewer that is appropriate for your operating system. Follow the instructions on the Documents page to install and use the viewer.
Driving Range & Golf Lessons
Alvin Golf & Country Club does not have a driving range and does not offer golf lessons at this time. If you call the pro shop at 281-331-4541, we can recommend a golf pro.
